Before the first plate reaches the table, the gathering has already begun. Something is sizzling. Music is playing. Someone has found their way into the kitchen.

That is the spirit behind Cook & Vybz.

Founded by Jamaican-American chef Christopher Callender, Cook & Vybz brings together catering, private events, culinary experiences, and products through a shared love of food, music, and gathering. Our perspective is Caribbean, our curiosity travels, and our approach to hospitality starts with making people feel welcome.

Every part of the experience matters: what is on the plate, what is playing in the room, and how people feel when they leave.

Cook & Vybz grew from ideas Christopher had been developing for years.

With Cheat Healthier, he explored the relationship between the food we crave and the way we want to live. Inspired by his interest in fitness and cooking, it made room for thoughtful choices and the pleasure of a satisfying meal.

With Jerk Reserve, he returned to the flavors and family stories that shaped him. Seasonings and sauces became a way to share his Jamaican heritage beyond the meals he could personally prepare. Its guiding belief, Family is Flavor, gave those products a purpose rooted in memory and belonging.

Through catering and private dining, Christopher brought those influences directly to the table. Each occasion offered a different creative challenge: interpreting a host’s vision, introducing guests to an unfamiliar flavor, or finding a fresh expression for a dish they already loved.

As that work expanded, so did the need for a name that could hold it all.

Cook & Vybz became that home—a place where menus, products, recipes, music, and design could grow together. The name gives Christopher the freedom to follow an idea wherever it leads, with a clear point of view connecting the work.

Our roots show up in the warmth of our hospitality and the flavors we return to: allspice, Scotch bonnet, coconut, ginger, and the depth that comes from giving food time and attention.

From that foundation, we explore.

A familiar Caribbean ingredient might meet a different technique. A family favorite might inspire a new dish. A menu might move between comfort and discovery, shaped by the occasion rather than confined to a single category.

We honor where the food comes from while making room for what it can become.

Music has a place in our creative process, from preparing a meal to welcoming the last guest.

Our collaboration with DJ Pesuto brings that connection to life through playlists that invite people to cook, listen, and settle into the moment. At our gatherings, sound helps shape the atmosphere as deliberately as the menu.
